Synopsis

The idealisation of womanhood, worldwide, is far from the reality of their lives. In many places, women are expected to put the well-being of others in the family before themselves, and patriarchal values deny them control over their education and reproduction. The director proposes that a key issue should be to address structural barriers to women’s empowerment throughout Africa. Sponsored by UNICEF.
