Built around the iconic Mauritian stamp, The Blue Penny is a thriller with complex characters. Dating from the 19th century, the ‘Blue Penny’ is a Mauritian stamp that is one of the rarest and most coveted stamps in the world.  Harry Theodore is a wealthy businessman who opens his home to family and close friends to celebrate the marriage of his daughter. In an unexpected turn, Harry’s eldest son arrives with his new girlfriend, who happens to be Harry’s former mistress. What ensues is the exposure of secrets and a revelation of what happens when the unmentionable is made possible by social status and privilege. With a distinct undercurrent of a growing social malaise, the events that shake up this evening depict how the social cohesion within any family is a fragile balance, especially when built around appearance.
